(Tone) Deaf Kennedys.

 What a fantastic way to end Autism Acceptance Month - (brain) worm addled, vaccine hating madman Robert F Kennedy Jr. makes a stand against Autism whilst referring to it as a virulent disease before hiring David Geier (who was fined by Maryland regulators for practicing medicine without a license) to conduct an analysis on the links between autism and vaccines.

 

Geier, if you recall, was the guy who spent years illegally treating children with hormone blockers, claiming it would “detox” their autism.

 

As a plus point his press conference was so awful that it managed to persuade  ASAN and Autism Speaks to release a joint statement which is the Autistic equivalent of Doctor Who and Davros getting drunk at karaoke before having a furtive snog in the taxi home.

 

Luckily all the virtue signalling social justice friends we all know (and secretly loathe) on social media jumped to condemn Kennedy's speech and stand in solidarity with us and our American brethren as Kennedy called us a national tragedy and that Autistic people will “never pay taxes, never hold a job, never play baseball, never write a poem, never go out on a date.” and in one particularly shocking moment, describing Autistic kids as a strain on America’s ballooning healthcare costs before announcing that he's going to cure us come September.

Only they didn't did they.

Not one fucking person outside a small group actively involved in the Autistic community seemed to give two fucks.

Thanks all. 

I'm kinda in shock (but not surprised) by these turn of events - or lack of any caring from the 'not we' and would say we still have a way to go before we're actually accepted but between this and our governments stand on the disabled I'll be surprised if there are any of us Autists left this time next year.

Hopefully you'll at least come visit us in the institutions they'll be building to house us in, away from normal people obviously.

Or at least visit our graves. 

And yes, it's that serious.
