(Social) Security Breach.

The SNP:   We're swapping over disability payments to Social Security Scotland, it'll be much easier than that pesky PIP...Also Westminster incompetent and bad! Social Security Scotland :  We've cancelled your son's disability payment because he's 18 so no longer Autistic....you can challenge this but it may take up to 8 weeks....   FUCK OFF.

Partly Politics.

Seeing as it's election season and every single party (and their dog plus their dogs party) is after my vote I just thought I'd see which ones - if any - are remotely interested in not just Autistic issues by our particular Autistic issues. Here's the (main) issues with the support system in a (handy bite sized) nutshell. 1. Wait 18 years for social work support. 2. Requested a PA/assisted travel for the girls in late 2021, it's currently mid 2024 and it's still not in place. 3. Our youngest leaves school Wednesday and has been offered a conditional college place but only if support is in place, January 2024 this was requested - got told he was being passed over to adult services. 24th June 2024 - still nothing in place and still waiting for him to cross over to adult services. He starts college (hopefully) in August. Any parties willing to sort any of this shite out? Oh and for anyone interested you can see the full, gory tale here . Ta.

Award Winning!

Typical!  The first time I ever miss the end of year assembly (off doing college stuff with Amelia) and I win an award!  Hopefully they let Rho give a "sorry I can't be there" speech for me! In all seriousness I'm dead chuffed with this. Thank you Abercorn!

Have a Little Patience...

For any teevee tec fans out there I've just discovered that Channel 4 have remade the top French crime series Astrid et Raphaëlle: Brilliant Minds but with added English language dialogue and a real Autistic! I must admit this leaves me a wee bit torn seeing as I loved Sara Mortensen as the original Astrid Nielsen, it was that mix of shirt/jumper combo, squinty fringed and librarian-like love of rolling stack shelving that did it for me. Old Patience - wistful.   Anyway, from Channel 4's pre-release bumf: Patience Evans (Ella Maisy Purvis) works in the criminal records department of Yorkshire Police, cataloguing and filing the evidence produced during major cases. A young autistic woman, she craves routine and order, relishing the solitude and structure her job provides but she yearns for more. A brilliant, self-taught criminologist, Patience has an instinctive eye for crime scenes and a passion for problem-solving.* Detective Bea Metcalf (Laura Fraser) is the first pe

So, it's 3 years today since my Sedgley UFO tweet went a wee bit mental so to celebrate the only time I've ever been popular here's a link to the post explaining the full sorry tale .  Plus as a special treat here's myself and Rho excitedly discussing it on the Ashrology podcast .  Enjoy. And remember, the truth is out there. Probably.
