The brilliant BBC podcast from Robyn Steward and Jamie Knight called 1800 Seconds on Autism podcasts have become the highlight of my week. From home and family to humour and epic geekiness, they're all utterly brilliant and well worth a listen. You can find them here .

Glasgow Loves Christmas.

As mentioned in an earlier post , Glasgow's traditional George Square Christmas Market had an Autism-friendly day between 10am – 6pm yesterday (4th December) so we decided to take the Autie brood down for a wee gander. So how did it (Christmas) fayre? Well actually it was a really nice, relaxed hour out, the fact that you arrived there knowing that it was going to be Autistic aware/friendly actually helps alleviate your stress levels as you kinda guess that if anything happens there are folk there to help or at least be a wee bit sympathetic. And the staff that we saw were friendly enough, especially on the big wheel who didn't rush anyone, kept the queues calm and were really amenable and polite. Plus it was lovely to see parents just enjoying an afternoon out without having to justify/apologise/get mad to feel shite for their kids expressing themselves. Which is more than can be said for the staring folk at Queens Street low level when the Cassman had a w

Noticed a - worrying - trend in online discussions recently that seems to be growing. It appears that whenever a person (usually a politician) does something we don't agree with then they're automatically assumed to be Autistic: But who am I to argue? - she has an Autistic son and is a self proclaimed 'clever girl'. Look here are the facts. Putin, Trump and May aren't Autistic. They're just wee shitebags. Get over it.   As a final thought, if having an Autistic son qualifies her as an expert at diagnosis then surely me being Autistic and with 3 Autistic kids trumps her? By that criteria I should be doing book tours or be made king. Tho' I'd have to write a book first obviously. And buy a crown. If only I were a 'clever girl' I'd have thought of that already. Sigh.
