Pardon?

Image
After a busy few weeks of new SW meetings (and new SW'ers), MP chats, cancelled trains and the like my psoriasis has hit my ears again and I've gone very deaf....sensory nightmares and throbbing headaches ahoy...it's like being drunk without the fun bits! Hopefully the meeting stuff means that things are moving forward and it's fairly lucky that I don't use my ears to draw seeing as Frightfest is beckoning.... More later.

Update Mate!

Well, looks like we have a(nother) new social worker assigned to the Cassman seeing as he's almost 18 and they've left it so long he's now over to adult services - which means we need to start the whole assessment process regarding additional support for college again....hopefully it'll be sorted before his application (for that one place that suits his needs*) has to be handed in. My usual state at the moment.   As a plus point our local MP is getting in touch with housing regarding our sneaky leak so that may get sorted before the whole place collapses which is nice (I mean that really sincerely - the caseworker I spoke to was top and even laughed at my jokes) so things may finally be looking up. That pesky stress-based psoriasis is still sore - and uncomfortable - as f*ck but I can't have everything I guess but at least it appears that after almost 19 years of waiting for (any) support we may be finally getting somewhere. Updates as it happens. Wish us luck! &quo

Work Stuff.

A wee work update, been busy of late working on the teaser and release poster for the new horror film from Russ Gomm, director of The Welcoming .   Enjoy.

Happy Birthday Ivor!

BOTD 1923, the genius that was and always will be Ivor Cutler...Will spend the day quietly sitting in my favourite chair to celebrate....and I'm pretty sure he was one of our mob! And as an added treat here's him performing the greatest song about chatting with Autistic folk ever (according to Rho anyway)...

So Cassidy...

...What's your favourite bonus feature on the Doctor Who Dvd releases?

Scott Free.

Been a fair bit of music and illustration of late (sorry if that's not your bag or the thought of an Autistic peep posting non-moaning everyday stuff offends) but couldn't let Scott Walker's birthday pass without a mention.  I discovered him as an angsty, arty teen thru' my love of Marc Almond ( you can read my waxing lyrical about him in an Autistic manner here ) and The Walker Brothers classic No Regrets is featured on my Autitune playlist ( mainly because it's probably THE greatest song and vocal performance ever committed to vinyl....and the only pop tune that can reduce me to tears every time) but I'll post it again here (you're welcome). Seriously tho' it's a song so perfect it actually hurts, I mean no-one should have a voice so perfect. Anyway enough babble. Happy Birthday Scott!

Hello Spaceboy.

It's David Bowie's birthday and it's William Hartnell's birthday....so why not?   David Bowie IS Doctor Who - The Man Who Fell To Earth.     As you can probably tell - I absolutely adore David Bowie not just for the f*cking incredible music but for making growing up for those of us who'd ever felt a wee bit different or alone so much more bearable so a s we celebrate the great man's birthday I have to just say THANK YOU. #BowieForever.

Blast From The Past....

Finally thought I'd put all (well almost all) the Spectrum Superstars featured in the late, lamented Scottish Autism Autitude magazine together in one handy place. Enjoy.

Happy Birthday to The Shipping Forecast!

Image
Appears that this is my most reposted, um, post (well one of them anyway) but I couldn't let the 100th anniversary of the shipping forecasts first radio broadcast pass without giving it a mention here seeing as  how damned important this oh so British slice of culture is to me - and many others. Happy birthday to a national institution! Shipping Forecast t-shirt? Best gift ever. Fact.
