Thought I'd post a (very) quick house update for those following the whole sorry story .... Well, after finding out that we're no longer moving permanently (which was the actual reason we agreed to a move rather than doing the work around us due to the kids complex needs) we've heard nothing else since.   I did get in touch with housing (a stage 2 written complaint seeing as we can't actually submit a stage 1 as we don't have a housing officer since the old one went AWOL) that, according to their website would at least be acknowledged within 2 working days. That was Tuesday 14th, it's now Sunday 19th and we've still not heard back. Could it be that they're inundated with repair complaints or is it just a lack of actually caring? I wont say incompetence as I'm not that bitchy. So we're sitting here nearly 3 weeks after our initial moving in date (1st April), just over 2 months since we were threatened with a 'forced move' and just over 2 ...

  Not usually so serious but currently experiencing the first, oddly unsettling throes of that fabled condition called Autistic shutdown - my eyes are closing, my arms and legs are heavy and I'm lurching 'tween feeling like crying and vomiting.  This whole housing situation has completely broken me and I really can't see anyway forward, hate having to ask Rho to deal with this shite.

  Been a wee bit quiet on the whole house moving front at the moment, partly due to having absolutely no idea what's going on but mainly due to the fact that there's probably going to be pretty harsh legal consequences to how it's been dealt with by the housing officer so reckoned it was best to keep quiet and make notes in the meantime. However all that seems to have changed a few weeks back when we received a phone call to tell us that the housing officer had left their job suddenly for a new one (who knew there was a huge job market for sociopaths?) and that we needed to get a meeting regarding the house move as she'd not done the job handover or put anything in place. Obviously we then kinda assumed that we wouldn't be getting the keys on 1st April as promised and wouldn't be able to start moving stuff. But as a plus point we now don't have to deal with what was probably the most vindictive, manipulative and downright rude person I have ever encountered ...

 Happy 75th birthday to  the Pleasant, Open Faced 5th Doctor himself, Peter Davison.  His era of the show was when I transformed from being a wee boy who was a fan of the show to a fully paid up 'enthusiast'.   Oh yes and attending Longleat!     Even Embeth's a fan which shows remarkably good Doctor Who taste!

As usual none of the major political parties posted a fucking thing about it, neither did the Prime Minister or the First Minister up here or any MPs/MSPs, none of the schools or colleges mentioned it and my local hospital had no idea about it when I turned up last Thursday dressed as Rainman and sporting my lanyard. So we're getting to the climax of Autism Acceptance Week 2026 and as per usual there's been very little - if any - mention of it from local authorities, government bodies and the like, almost as if they really don't care. But let's be honest we're kinda used to it by now. As a plus point I've been hemorrhaging X (formerly Twitter) followers this week since concentrating on 'Tism Tweets  but that might just be because everyone hates me or they're just bored with my spectrum shenanigans.     A bonus post today seeing as it's a bank holiday weekend and all and it's all about the music.  I've posted about music - and music related stuff - on loads of occasions, especially after a late night chat regarding my fairly amazing autistic memory bank and the ability to remember exactly where and when I heard my favourite songs or saw my favourite films for the first time in minute detail.   For example Tears of A Clown, 30 April 1975....followed a news report on the fall of Saigon, I was sitting cross legged in front of our old stereo in the maisonette we lived in in Coseley (or Wallbrook as the area was known then).   Oh yes, and we had this wallpaper (I insisted).       Anyway, in a musical vein (see? it all links together) and to add a wee bit of fun and hopefully brighten things up this Autism Acceptance Week (fudge knows I need it) I thought I'd do a post about Autistic type tracks, basically songs I feel sum me up or I ju...

    Well I reckon that the World Autism Acceptance Week is as good an excuse as any to indulge in some blatant self publicity and by that I mean reshare the transcript of my Spectrum Sinema performance that the magnificent Paul Wady invited me to do during his Eccentrics Unite! Fringe show a few years back  - the actual gig was edited for timing reasons/my rambling ways so it was fairly short 'n' snappy which was unusual for me but it seemed to go down OK. I mean there were no walk-outs but I did make a man visibly uncomfortable with the sheer Autistic intensity of my love for the films of 1982. This has been a dream of mine for years if I'm honest.
