Seriously?

FaceBook's algorithm seems to have mistaken me for someone who's pro-eugenics. Either that or all those Dalek posts have confused it. I really don't know what's more offensive here - the advert in general or the fucking abysmal artwork.....To be fair I'm finding the Autistic/Artistic bits of me very conflicted as to which bit of it to burn first...

AntiSocial....

...with Adam Fleming.   Interesting, frustrating and annoying in equal measures....Moheb Costandi is fairly punchable tho.....would go as far as to say he's talking utter bollocks but just found out he met an Autistic person once so he must be the expert, not the Actually Autistic guest Rachel Winder obviously (or me). Worth a listen here

Autie-Chat Redux.

Noticed a fair few new readers of late so thought I'd reshare part of an interview I did  regarding an academic paper on Autistic parenting as it gives a pretty good intro into our whole wide world. Enjoy. Again. Oh and pay attention as there will be questions later.

Ivor Cutler.

BOTD 1923, the genius that was and always will be Ivor Cutler...Will spend the day quietly sitting in my favourite chair to celebrate. And yes, I'm pretty damn sure he was one of our mob...so there!

Where Autism meets artsy stuff.....My poster art for the 2023 Autism Through Cinema Conference. Enjoy.

Bowie Forever.

Another year, another chance to bask in the brilliance of Bowie.   As you probably know (or can tell) - I absolutely adore David Bowie not just for the f*cking incredible music but for making growing up for those of us who'd ever felt a wee bit different or alone so much more bearable so a s we celebrate the great man's birthday I have to just say THANK YOU for making growing up for those of us who've ever felt a wee bit different or alone much more bearable. #BowieForever.

New year, new Autism friendly sessions....and the (usually great) Riverside Museum have posted their Autism Friendly hours....         Yup you read it right, Autism friendly hours are one hour a week 10-11 Friday mornings...but not in December obviously because as we all know we stop being Autistic at Christmas.   Other than that the hours are great, if you're a pre-schooler or retired obviously.   For everyone else not so much.   As someone had posted in reply to them on Twitter, if your kids are school age it's of absolutely no use and I had to add that as an Autistic parent to Autistic children, navigating 'normal' opening hours with kids in tow can be twice as stressful, which is why the previous Sunday sessions were much more convenient.   And Riverside's reply?       There's a lot to unpack in this tweet...way too much to actually reply to in a thread but as a starter.... 'Having these Friday morning sessions allows us to offer this free of charge'

Happy New Year!
