Autism Acceptance Week 2023: Autitune!

 Talking about music - as we were earlier - ages ago I tried to curate an Autastic tracklist but just ended up with songs that give me goosebumps and over excited stim feels....you can find it here if you're interested.

 

Anyway, to cheer everyone up I thought I'd reshare my post about Autistic type tracks, basically songs I feel sum me up or I just enjoy! 

Hopefully you might too.

 Oh you like film and music? Well cinema sounds don't get more Autistic than this....and Quorra's haircut was cool too.
 

 
 Sticking with teenage kicks and cinema, this is a go to for me as it's from probably THE best movie about alienated youth ever....the mighty Times Square....goosebumps.
 

 And while we're at it, I can't ignore the song from the soundtrack that's by an #actuallyautistic singer....



Mighty mixes of music and movement are always a thing in our house....and Cass is no exception - he's obsessed with this....and why not? The Aquabats Pool Party!

    Been a really hard few days trying to process everything regarding that incident in Leeds this week where an Autistic teen was brutally (yes really) harassed and manhandled by the police for the heinous crime of being a wee bit tipsy and saying a police officer "looked like her lesbian nana" and how it feels as an Autistic parent. It's that time of the year again where I drag this out for its annual airing. Enjoy. In those dreamy pre-Coronavirus days, I'd spend the time between drawing stuff for a living and wandering around meeting various folk to find out what they actually want me to draw (it keeps me off - well on - the streets I guess) I spend most of my time inanely blogging about films. Well Blade Runner fans we made it! Yup, the movie is no longer science fiction seeing as from today it's set right here right now. Well it;s only really right here if you're reading this in Los Angeles but you know what I mean. Anyway thought that was as good a reason as any to repost this plus if enough folk leave me nice comments it may be the boot up the arse I need to finish it. Nothing like hinting for (faint) praise is there? Well at least I'm honest. A while back I submitted an academic paper on the fun filled idea of Ridley Scott's classic Blade Runner (1982) being the most Autistic movie ever made. Yes, I know I need to get out more. Anyway, turns out that although the folk concerned liked it the whole thing didn't really fit in with the conference in general so unfortunately couldn't be presented. Me not fitting in?
