I don't want to jinx it but it appears that things are looking up in 2025 as it seems that 8 months after cancelling Cassidy's DLA due to the new Scottish system not recognising that you can have more than one disabled person living at the same address(!) that his Adult Disability Payment is finally back on track!

Absolutely shocking length of time to be left attempting to sort it out - and yes, there's nothing in place to just reinstate it when it's a mistake at their end because reasons - but I have to say that if there was one shining light throughout this whole administrative shitstorm it would be the fact that every single staff member I've dealt with at Social Security Scotland has been an absolute star.

So cheers to them at least.

Especially the staff member who came round for Cassidy's 1:1 interview over Christmas, lovely guy.

Now that's off the list there's just housing repairs, why Social Work actually exist and what it is they actually do except send passive aggressive letters, easier access to guardianship, sorting out the total lack of support for education and nearly every organisation (including the Scottish Government) contravening the human rights act to sort out.

So I might be busy till March then.

Busy day today, was planning to take in all the hotels in town that are listed on the Autism Awareness map as well as check out the Autism bus and St Mungo museum but ended up chatting (and drinking coffee) in Geek-Aboo whilst discussing Autism friendly shopping (you can thank me later) and then gabbing away to a nice lady from Autism Network Scotland which meant I only got to go to St Mungo in the end. Autastic Review of The Year.

Well it's been a packed year here at Autastic Towers so thought I'd do a quick overview of the highs and lows of 2024 with a special mention to those who deserve extra credit. Warning tho' there'll probably be some time jumps (a bit like Doctor Who when it was good) as some of the stuff is either ongoing or linked plus expect heady amounts of swearing. And slight sarcasm. Enjoy.     Bizarrely looking back I spent most of January coping with my (stress based) psoriasis hitting my ears again and going very deaf with sensory nightmares and throbbing headaches ahoy...imagine being drunk without the fun bits. In a lovely bit of symmetry I'm sitting typing this in exactly the same situation, albeit now with the pesky psoriasis now also covering my legs and back. Joy. Riverside Museum/Kelvingrove Art Gallery.

Got a two in one special today (tho' in reality the visits were a few days apart - yup it's already gone all timey wimey) but there's a really good (and fairly interesting) reason for that. A very blue-hued Riverside Museum, not to be confused with Riverside - the TV series broadcast on BBC2 that featured musicians, bands, actors, fashion designers, artists and comedians including Alice Cooper, Steve Strange, Clare Grogan, Paul Weller, Martin Fry, The Cure, The Smiths, New Order and Pauline Black. Phew, glad that's sorted. First up the relocated and custom built Riverside Museum , once known as the Transport Museum and housed at Kelvinhall the Riverside has been open for 7 years now and has over 3,000 objects on display there's everything from skateboards to steam trains, paintings to prams and cars to a Star Wars Stormtrooper.
