Social Work Season Finale!

Finally heard back from Social Work and it's a good un!

It appears that they've decided to cancel any support Cassidy had in place (which to be fair was absolutely fuck all) because we've 'made no effort' (according to them) to sort out any of the paper work re: guardianship/re-instating hid adult disability payment etc ourselves....

Bizarrely this is what we requested support with to begin with.

Obviously the fact that we had to wait for the schools to return to get supporting letters, having to escort the kids to college/work at college 3 days a week alongside then having to do laundry, shopping and the like on the other 2 days (as well as trying to get the house sorted - still - isn't reason enough to give us the support to begin with.

Plus there's a massive lie (or do we have to say untruth or there was some confusion?) in the letter that says that Rho told them we didn't actually require any support plus add to the fact we hadn't rung them back (what are we? their fucking parents?) means they're closing his case.

Fucking brilliant.

Shower of utter useless bastards the lot of them.

And yes, you can quote me on that.

  1. You can phone a lawyer at govan law centre and ask about guardianship who then contact psychiatrist, gp and mental health officer for assessment it takes a while for the whole process to go to court but it gets the ball rolling towards for support

  2. For our area it's LSA in town....pesky boundaries! :) The issue we have is the actual time to do it - we have all the info etc but literally needed someone to either sit with the kids (never happen!) or come to the house whilst we do it....SW says the most requested help is for guardianship and further ed support but that it's 'outside their remit'.....easier for them - and every other 'support service' to just ignore the issue.
