Anti-Social.
Regular(?) readers may remember way back in June when Social Security Scotland cancelled Cassidy's disability payments due to them accidentally not sending us a letter to say it needed updating.
This was, if you recall, not long after the illustrious Scottish Government stated that:
"Swapping over disability payments to Social Security Scotland will be much easier than that pesky PIP as well as being less intrusive and more humane...Also Westminster incompetent and bad!"
Well at the time we were told that even tho' it was their mistake we'd have to re-apply for the whole thing which wouldn't be that bad (actually it was) but it also meant having to wait till the schools were back to get covering letters etc meaning we spent the summer with a junior Social Worker accusing us of not trying to fill the forms in quick enough before suggesting we just "change the date" on the old support letter.
Which as we all know is fraud.
This has impacted on Cassidy's college as we can't apply for a bursary without him being registered as disabled or apply for support etc.
Luckily Social Work reckon he's fine to travel without support (even tho' he's non verbal and has 1:1 support even at home so it's probably just us complaining or wanting money for nothing as everyone on social media seems to think of disabled folk right now.
But I digress.
Which if I'm honest isn't as bad as suggesting folk fake dates on official letters is it?
Or signing up to the UN disability act without reading it.
Or looking at your watch and tutting during meetings because you have a busy day.
Am I right Gordon?
Dignity, fairness, respect? Dave mate it's literally none of those things. |
Anyway the re-application/decision challenge was meant to take up to 8 weeks....
5 months later we've just received a letter stating that we've not filled the forms in and if we had it would only be backdated to September.
But not now obviously.
This is after receiving a letter 2 weeks ago saying the application had been received and they would make arrangements for Cassidy's in person interview.
As you can tell we're really confident about swapping over to Carer Support Payment now as that will no doubt go swimmingly too.
